ANDREW HAGAN
ANDREW HAGAN
Member of the Advisory Committee

Dr. Andrew Hagan brings to Neva his broad and high-level experience in emerging technologies, as well as practical business skills and experience.

He initiated and led the work on Emerging Technologies at the World Economic Forum, focusing on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneuring’ and bringing the right people in an economic ecosystem together.

He is now active in many other emerging technologies, including consulting to CEOs/Chairmen, and has started a VC fund for Emerging Technology across Europe. He also has particular expertise in all fields of biotechnology.

John works with startups and developing companies across Europe through a combination of mentoring, global strategic planning and angel investing. He is a CEEI approved mentor and a member of Sofia Business Angels. He is also currently providing strategic and operational leadership for a US based global IT company across Europe. He has a BA in Economics and Statistics and an MBA in international finance from USC.

As a Vice-President of a major US engineering firm, he was responsible for developing new ventures ranging from telecoms in Cairo to energy conservation projects in Ukraine.

As a founder and managing director of the Vantage Point consulting company, he has provided executive leadership training.

John is also an aviator, experienced as a military, corporate, flight and ground instructor, and aerobatic pilot. He is a graduate of the U.S.Naval Postgraduate program in aeronautical engineering and aerospace safety.

Maher is General Manager Energy & Natural Resources for Europe, Middle East and Africa, with more than 27 years of experience in the industry. He is President of ESMIG (European Smart Energy Association), Chairman of the Digitisation group at the ETIP SNET (Smart Networks for Energy Transition) and

member of the Governing Board of REEEP (Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership). In addition, he is a Board member of ARMINES (Research Organization of MinesParisTech), where previously he earned a PhD in Energy.

ETIENNE LOULERGUE

Etienne is member of the Advisory Committee of Neva. He brings his extensive experience of the financial control and investment spheres.

He has held a range of positions including finance director, financial officer for a structured finance division, subsidiary finance supervisor, and financial auditor.

Etienne is presently Program Manager for Financial Shared Service Centers at Société Générale (multinational bank headquartered in France).

Previously he led the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) consolidation department for the international network of retail banking subsidiaries. Etienne completed a Master Degree at the HEC School of Management in Paris and holds an engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering (SUPAERO) - Toulouse

RICHARD A. BENNET

Richard specialises in development activities to support companies to prepare for IPO. He works with management teams to incubate and develop companies with the potential for rapid-growth and international expansion. His core focus is on ventures in the technology, bioenergy, and renewable energy sectors.

His objective is to deliver equity growth. Some of Richard’s key projects include: Sunbird Bioenergy, Coms PLC, China New Energy, MTI Wireless, and J2 Inc. His expertise is in developing a corporate development strategy, raising funds via private equity or public investment, and implementing M&A and business development strategies that increase revenue and accelerate business goals.

LAURA PALMEIRO

Laura is the corporate social responsibility director at Danone group, the world leading dairy producer. She is an environmental finance, agribusiness and sustainability expert, assisting Neva with these issues.

Laura’s career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was responsible for external auditing for many clients. She then joined Danone in 1997, where she has worked ever since. As a VP Finance for the Nature Department at Danone, she has led the development of the CO2 accounting methodology and put in place the organisation needed to implement this worldwide.

As the corporate social Responsibility director for Danone she is in charge of coordinating and assessing the implementation of policies and indicators relating to environment, social affairs, safety, health & nutrition, amongst others. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina Laura holds a Certified Public Accountancy degree and an MBA from Austral University.

DAVID JOHN LEWIS

David is member of the Advisory Board and comes to Neva with years of experience guiding start-ups down the path to success.

He studied economics and received a BS from Queen Mary College, University of London. He began his career with PwC and then pursued the energy sector, becoming vice president of a major global energy corporation and leading the company’s UK activities throughout the 90s.

Since November 1999, David John has pursued a portfolio career involving the creation and management of small business endeavours, a variety of advisory roles, and full-time consultancy roles for larger firms.

David John has served on both the UK Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies and the Associated Parliamentary Group on Energy Costs. He has also participated in the administration of several energy trade associations, namely Energy UK, the UK World Energy Council, and the Worshipful Company of Fuellers.
